Camping de la Bonnette is a very welcoming family campsite on the outskirts of the beautiful medieval village of Caylus. The child and dog friendly parkland campsite is located along the river Bonnette and has 50 pitches on level lawns, surrounded by hedges and shady trees, with plenty of space to soak up the sunshine. The site has also static caravans and safaritents for rent. The historic center of Caylus is a 5 minute walk from the campsite, and in the village you will find all the shops, re... staurants, bars, as well a market twice a week. The local baker delivers fresh bread to the campsite every morning. Because of its location near the village, the site is ideal for motor homes. The location is an ideal base for walking, cycling, and car or motorbike tours through this beautiful region with its fantastic hills and river valleys

The establishment
Run by Hans (Dutch) and his partner Delphine, this is a real gem of a campsite and we received a friendly and helpful welcome right from the start, with a personal tour of the facilities and help in choosing the best available pitch. Hans speaks at least three languages fluently (Dutch, French and English) and they both run the site with a warm and pleasant touch. The bar and restaurant facilities were exceptional - far beyond the usual standard that you might expect to find on a campsite. The food was superb and Delphine's Henaritry au Boeuf (Mauritian) and was absolutely delicious.

The pitches with electric hook-ups run down the centre track and all were generously large, with smaller tent pitches behind hedges either nearer to the river Bonnette, or the road, which was very quiet and never disturbed us. The whole site is attractively laid out and has a very pleasant and peaceful atmosphere. In June when we were there, the newer toilet block at the far end was closed and the unisex facilities in the reception block coped pretty well with the lowish number of people on-site. Most campers were from the Netherlands and a few from Belgium, which suited us fine.

There were music concerts on the area which lastet untill 6 AM Saturday and another till 1 AM Tuesday. So a good rest wasn't possible those nights

Wat een geweldige week hier gehad ,het ontvangst door Hans het eten van Delphine en de vriendelijk en gastvrijheid geweldig. De hele week hier gegeten en dat was prima goed en lekker eten met een draai van Delphine ,speciaal de Mosselen .De informatie die Hans gaf was ook zeer nuttig en het persoonlijke betrokkenheid , het was de eerste keer dat wij hier waren maar komen volgend jaar terug
